Happy Fall, Y'all!

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday - no gifts, no pressure, nothing material at all.... just good food and spending quality time with my wondeful family! During these tough times it's easy to forget how much we do have to be thankful for - a child's laughter, "one more bed time story", cuddling with a puppy and enjoying a nice conversation with the love of your life. It really is the small things that we sometimes overlook, but could not imagine our lives without. Here's to a fabulous and festive Turkey Day to everyone!!!

Triathlon Cookies

As some of you may or may not know, I am currently training for the Chicago Triathlon! It is my very first triathlon, and I'm very excited!! Chris has been helping me train, along with a new group of die hard triathletes that I just met. All of my friends and family have been so supportive along the way, which I truly appreciate. In honor of, well - ME! - I made these triathlon cookies!! I also thought this would be so cute to give someone who finishes a race...any distance. Let's face it, after all that hard work - wouldn't you rather have some yummy cookies rather than flowers?! Good luck to everyone doing the Chicago Triathlon, or any other race you might be signed up! Stay positive, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

We combined his first birthday party with a Fourth of July party - we hope this will become an annual tradition as our town has a big Independence Day festival and fireworks show. Happy First Birthday, Margo!!

For my friend Candice's daughter, Margo, I went with her pink & green theme to create these monogrammed and Number 1 cookies, of course with some polka dots added in there since those are my favorite accent! Since they were party favors, I wrapped them up nicely with alternating pink, white and green ribbon and placed them in a big green "tub" so all the kids could just take one. The mommies and daddies took some, too! Happy Birthday, Margo!!
